The location of the leakage of the flexible endoscope

1.Leaking position—bending rubber

• The mouth pad is not used during the operation or the quality of the mouth pad is poor, the patient feels nervous, bites the insertion part—-The bending rubber breaks.
• Poor maintenance, aging of bending rubber—-bending rubber broken .
• The flexible endoscope is cleaned with sharp tools or there are sharp edges in the cleaning tank—the bending rubber is scratched

2.Leakage location—biopsy channel

• Encountering resistance when inserting, forcibly push attachment forward—-the biopsy channel is inserted.

3.Leakage location—other parts

• Accidental collision of the tips with a hard object-the lens broke.

Phenomenon caused by leakage of flexible endoscope：

• The image beam of the fiber endoscope is cracked or rainbow, and the field of vision is blurred.
• The image of the electronic endoscope is defective, and even the CCD is shorted and there is no image.
• The beam of light guide fiber bundle hardens and becomes brittle, it is easy to break, and the brightness decreases.
• The coil spring tube falls off and the angle is not correct.
• The electronic endoscope switch button is shorted and its function cannot be used.

• The cleaning and disinfection procedures of the flexible endoscope must be correct.
• Promote high-quality maintenance.
• The flexible endoscope must pass the water leakage test before cleaning.
